Me , GDragon and Choco Pies Part 2

If you're a die-hard GDragon fan, you would know that along with purchasing a ticket to the concert came free admission to the Space 8 gallery exhibit of his unreleased photographs, and viewing of the props used in the performance.

Of course, I couldn't resist going. I'm not a die hard fan but I thought going would be a bit of fun. There were no photographs allowed in the building but you can take some outside. The exhibit not only detailed his tour but contained photographs from his entire career with BigBang.

The exhibit was interesting, and I would really need visual aids to explain some of my surprise and confusion. They did have small sized photos you could buy but I'm not a big enough fan to do that.

So Below are just some pictures I did not post from the concert and some of me outside of the gallery.

Me, a mountain , and a lot of walking.

Chuseok is a a Korean holiday which is basically like a Korean Thanksgiving. Most stores are closed expect for some chain stores. The national museums have special hours and special performances as well.

Since this was my first Korean Holiday, I decided to climb a mountain ...roughly 6Km!! Yes, I , a person who never walks anywhere, climbed a mountain. And yes, I was in shock after it but it was worth it!

So we took the Sky Walk(course 8) bukhanson dulegik track which is designed for beginners. It was amazing.  It plateaus into a small town towards the base , then it goes back up. On my journey, of course, I got stared at but a nice Korean family said "hi" to me in English and an ajumma said " hi " in Korean. So I felt really welcomed. Of course, the ajumma made me look like a weak, unhealthy, fat American but elderly Korean people are extremely fit. So, it's an unfair comparison. Most of them were actually hiking up to the peak of the mountain.

While on the trek, I couldn't help but mediate with God. At first my legs wanted to give out but after awhile they adjusted. I was able to cope and my legs seemed to become stronger with every step I took. Though, I still couldn't keep up with my Korean comrades, I was able to keep a pretty good pace. On my journey, it occurred to me that God was like that feeling. When I first started out, I was weak and could not handle the rocky, slippery road. In fact, I was not even equipped properly as I was wearing New Balance walking shoes and jeans instead of hiking shoes and pants. But God used what he gave me to help me along own journey. He strengthened me when I was feeling weak, and made me stronger through my trials. When I was given a break, I used it to my advantage and didn't waste it being lazy but instead, I used it to prepare for what lied ahead. For me, this wasn't just any mountain climbing adventure, it was a way to experience God in his creation.

"The Cure" Fan signing wih TigerJK, Yoonmirae, and Bizzy

I've been in Seoul, South Korea for 3 weeks now and the experience has been amazing!!

Today, I went on my second musical adventure in Korea to see TigerJK, Yoonmirae, and Bizzy at "The Cure" album signing.

The night before the signing I found a tweet about it. ( If you are always following you're favorite stars, you'll never miss a thing.) Since I had no clue where to go I found the location with transportation instructions  on the Korean Government visitors website: VisitKorea .

It's was about an hour away( but still in Seoul), so I began my trip after dinner. The instructions said to get out at exit 2 but you can actually keep walking straight into the store onto the B2 annex level. I didn't know this and got lost for a while. Since I had my phone I took a picture of the level I needed to be ( annex B3 level) and showed it to the security guard. He directed me too the U- lounge with ease.

Since I was still trying to figure out how to get into line, I wasn't too excited yet. I thought I wouldn't get a spot. So across from the U lounge is the Bandi & Lundi bookstore, I had to buy the album there take it to the people to get a number in line, and I was LUCKY #26. I found my way with the help of other American exchange students there for the signing.

When I got my ticket number, I was so so excited! I thought I'd faint and scream and faint again! Meeting TigerJK and Yoonmirae ( Tasha ) was my #1 goal when I came to Korea. The first thing on my korean dream list! I really love what they stand for and what they are trying to do with their music. I find their struggle and passion inspiring. When it was my turn, I went mute, smiled and jumped up and down with joy. I was so happy, I could've cried. I never thought that I would've gotten this opportunity. Next time, I won't be as nervous and will speak and ask for a picture!!( I'm very mad about this.)

When I took the leap of faith and came to Korea with in the a year of discovering Korean artist and culture, I never really thought my dreams would come true. Even after arriving, I thought it wasn't going to happen. So to anyone out there reading this, I want you to follow your dreams. They are only as impossible as you let them be. For me, I'm going to stop doubting myself and my wish and just follow my heart.

Peace out! And I hope you enjoyed my sip of Seoul.

P.S. I know there is a lack of Bizzy in this article but I just know more about TigerJK and Tasha because of the information on the internet. Bizzy needs a wikipedia page and more interview translations. If anyone can find clips of him actually talking, let me know. lol

Me , GDragon, and Choco Pies.

The first korean music adventure that I had was to see GDragon: One of  A Kind World Tour: The Final.

The concert was scheduled for the first Saturday and Sunday after I entered Korea. Initially, I had no intention of going to the concert. I wasn't a big GD fan and to be honest, it wasn't that important to me. I liked his music ok, but I wasn't a fan girl.

( Enter the roommate) So my roommate is from HongKong and she loves BigBang, especially GD. So she started looking for tickets and asked if I wanted to go. Since I had nothing to lose, I joined the hunt for tickets. Now, if you know anything about this concert, you probably know that the tickets had been sold out for months. So how did we get tickets?

Well, we waited in line for 2 hours to pick up any spare seats. At most concerts a group of 5 or more will book seats leaving 1 or 2 extra seats on the same row that no other group can use unless they split up. This works great for a single or duo to get better seats last minute. GD's concert was only sold on Gmarket so foreigners without an Alien registration card can not buy tickets online. So we took a chance and waited in line at the onsite ticket booth. Luckily, we got really good seats on the first seated level (section 14) in the Olympic Hall at Olympic Park.

After we got tickets, we waited in the souvenir line. The last hat sold that night when to ...me!! I was so happy. Also, I became addicted to choco pies. He had these "One of a Kind "concert choco pies( basically a snack cake kinda). They actually sell them under the normal brand name in stores. ( I at mine in 2 days it was a box of twelve....)

KPOP concerts are very strict on taking professional cameras inside. So be warned and check your bags at the booth or locker provided( for a small fee). If you are a foreigner , they are very nice about leading you to the right place to do so. I had no problems with any of the staff understanding me or my needs.

The concert its self was so cool. The energy of the fans and of GD was like nothing else. He really loves his fans. He was in the audience just as much as he was on stage. GD's concert was amazing and I became more of a fan when I left. I appreciated him more an artist.

(more pictures later)

Peace out !! and I hope you enjoyed my sip of Seoul.
